Sell Material Outright
Depending on strain, Cannabinoid content, age, and quality. In order for Breaking Dab Lab to purchase material, we must first do a micro extraction on one ounce per strain in order to both grade quality and yield, as well as ensure the final product passes all testing requirements at an ORELAP certified testing facility. After this micro extraction has been performed, and we’ve gotten test results back, we can then negotiate a final purchase price. If your material passes, Breaking Dab Lab agrees to cover the testing cost as part of our cost of doing business; however if it fails, your farm will be responsible for compensating Breaking Dab Lab for all testing costs. The time from initial material drop off to payout is approximately 2 weeks.
Final Product Split
Unfortunately, due to OLCC rules this option is only available to farms that are either utilizing a wholesaler or have a wholesale license. As with all of our processing options, the first step is to perform a micro extraction for testing purposes. The cost of this test, as well as the cost of the final batch will be split equally between the client and Breaking Dab Lab. Once we get lab results back, we can proceed with the larger scale extraction of the entire batch. Our split is in favor of the farmers 55/45; more favorable splits can be negotiated based on quality and quantity of material.
Flat Fee Processing
Handle distribution yourself! Unfortunately, due to OLCC rule the flat fee processing option is also only available to farms that are either utilizing a wholesaler, or have a wholesale license themselves. As with all of our processing options, the first step is to perform a micro extraction for testing purposes. All testing costs will be the responsibility of the client when choosing flat fee processing. Flat fee pricing starts at $5 per ML with an upfront deposit of 25%. These prices are negotiable based on which final product your farm requires.
Progressive Payout
Breaking Dab Lab purchases material under what we refer to as a progressive payout which starts at $100 and up, depending on the final yield and quality. These numbers are for dry material only. Live resin is discussed strictly on a case-by-case basis. Quality level is determined solely by Breaking Dab Lab, and is based on which price bracket we feel the final product best fits into. This option takes longer to monetize your material than selling outright, but it offers a chance for your farm to more fully share in the final products’ yield and quality. As with all of our options, the first step is to perform a micro extraction on one ounce per strain. The cost of this test, as well as the cost of the final batch will be split equally between the client and Breaking Dab Lab. After Breaking Dab Lab gets test results on your product back, we can then perform the larger scale extraction on the entire batch. Once the entire batch has been finished, we grade it, package it, and bring it to market. Your farm will receive payout after the product has been sold, based on the progressive payout structure illustrated below. Progressive payout turn around time varies depending on seasonal demands; check with us at time of intake for current times.
Intake Procedures
Methods used for material drying, as well as the post drying storage can make or break the quality of the final product. Material destined for extraction has three main enemies, light, heat, and moisture. A little bit of extra care in these areas will result in the difference of an A+ grade final product, or something much lower quality, and therefore much less valuable. Drying techniques for material destined for extraction is a bit different from drying flower that is destined to be sold or consumed. Material destined for extraction should be dried as quickly as possible while maintaining temperatures below 68F, ideal conditions are 25% humidity, 60F. Once fully dry, as close to 0% moisture content as possible, the material should immediately be sealed, and frozen. WLE will do an on site consultation with farms on a case by case basis, as well as provide loaner freezers in order to ensure the highest quality final product possible. In the case that a clients micro extraction fails testing, it will then be submitted to a secondary laboratory to ensure the initial failure was not due to laboratory error. If the extract fails the second test as well, the return or destruction of the contaminated material will be governed by current OLCC rules relating to this issue. In the case of the presence of pesticide being confirmed by both laboratories, all testing costs will be the responsibility go the farm. In the extremely rare case that a main batch fails testing, after the initial micro extraction has passed, farm will not be compensated for the failed batch in any way. Although extremely rare, it is possible for this to occur if only a small potion of the batch had pesticide applied, and the initial micro extraction does not reflect this. In this situation, the farm agrees to forfeit the failed batch for destruction, and pay Breaking Dab Lab $300 per pound of material processed for the time and expense incurred on said batch.
